Golden Hill State Park, N.Y.  Chasing Ice Volcanoes 3
VIEW: Looking westward, across the outlet, toward the lighthouse. A single large Ice Volcano lies in the center of this photo. Located on a shelf of ice that extends out into Lake Ontario, it is the only outstanding ice volcano in the photo. Note a series of Ice Volcanoes in the distance next to the promontory of land. In the foreground, numerous 'Ice Pads' float in the outlet of a creek that empties into Lake Ontario. More about these 'IcePads' later. They are very interesting. BELOW: Closeup with Kodak digital camera.
BELOW: Looking through a degraded Ice Volcano towards the lake. Melting has caused the formation of numerous ice stalactites. Many interesting features were observed by taking the trail along the Lake Ontario shoreline just east of the creek that empties into the lake.
