| ABOVE: Eurypterus lacustris Harlan. A fine specimen from the Williamsville Waterlime at Buffalo, N.Y. The specimen was collected from about an inch below the contact of Williamsville A with B. The pos- terior of the animal is bent over--in this case upward--and part of the animal may actually have been removed via truncation by the overlying deposition of Williamsville B. | Eurypterus lacustris is known only from the Williamsville Formation of Western New York and the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, Canada. Associated fossils are cephalopods, high-spired gastropods, phyllocarids plants, and a variety of other forms. |
